COVID-19 Update from Ames – May 15, 2020
May 15, 2020 Recently, Governor Phil Murphy (NJ), signed another executive order related to COVID-19 which shows signs of the state beginning to re-open. Executive Order No. 142 permits the resumption of non-essential construction, curbside pickup at non-essential retail businesses, and car gatherings for the purpose of drive-through and drive-in events. The construction and non-essential retail provisions will take effect at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, while the car gatherings provision will take effect immediately. Although this order doesn’t impact our company, it does show signs that current restrictions on our business may soon be loosened. To that end, we are developing plans to get back, as best as we can, to something approaching a more normal operation but “business as usual” may only be a memory as we move to a “new normal”. Our Employees: Since our last update, we are very proud to report that we have had many employees return to work that were missing time due to COVID-19 related concerns and that we have and are continuing to hire additional teammates. We will continue to implement all required / recommended operating guidelines including safe distancing, cleanliness practices, and the following of NJ Executive Order No. 122 requiring workers wear gloves and cloth face masks among other items. Thankfully, not one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19. Our Suppliers: Our supply chain has been minimally impacted by this outbreak and we continue to receive positive updates from our suppliers. Should any issues arise that might interrupt our material and component supply, and which might adversely impact shipments to our customers, we will work with these suppliers to discuss continuity of supply options and share these plans with our customers. Our Customers: I want to thank our customers for their patience and support during this period of restrictions and uncertainty. Your cooperation in scheduling and rescheduling of shipment dates (pull-ins and pushouts) has been extremely helpful in enabling us to most efficiently balance product demand with people capacity. Please know that we are doing our utmost to respond to and meet your needs. Whether it be through e-mails or calls, your feedback has been positive. We have shared your feedback with our employees and please know that all of us at Ames sincerely appreciates it and your continued support. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact us at ames@amescorp.com. Sincerely, Ames Rubber Corporation Chuck Roberts President and Chief Executive Officer |
