Ames Recognized as Top 10 Industrial Coater
Ames Director of Sales, Derek Eversdyke, along with Director of Product Development, Ron Brush, were recently featured in Manufacturing Outlook’s “Top 10 Industrial Coating Solution Companies – 2021.” The article highlights the challenges aerospace manufacturers face as it relates to shifts in materials used to manufacture critical components of an aircraft and how Ames has provided rubber coating solutions to address them.
Ames has been helping major aerospace OEMs deal with the shortcomings composite components present. For instance, composite components have limited resistance to foreign objects and debris (or FOD) such as bird strikes, hail, ice, sand storms, and ash-clouds. There are a variety of ways in which to address this problem. One of them is to apply a layer of high performing rubber materials onto composite substrates, and we do so in a highly controlled manner. “We can develop coatings with a blend of characteristics such as better abrasion erosion, temperature, and permeation resistance while accurately controlling the thickness of the spray across very convoluted geometry,” states Ron Brush.
